“She Her I and Me” was a project created by Nadine Woodley, Topsy Balogun and the Wasted Talent Project team.
This inspirational showcase put on for International Women’s day took place ironically in the secondary school I attended in Canning Town.
It gave a group of year 9 girls from different religious backgrounds and race the opportunity to express their upbringing in and out of school.
This was the first time these young ladies had performed in front of a live audience with the support and encouragement from each other, They were able to put on a great performance and over come any nerves.
The main aim for this project was to allow young girls to voice their opinion on how it feels to grow up in Society today.
Using Spoken words and Poetry each of them were given creative freedom to express themselves, on subjects such as culture, image and how girls treat each other.
The Showcase
I couldn’t help but be moved by this production, Hopefully this will not be the last we see of the project “She Her I and Me”
